At ITS we see Information technology as a core enabler in delivering complex third-party logistics services at scale. ITS continues to invest in transforming its enterprise data architecture to support business growth and set us apart in the marketplace. An increasing percent of ITS IT spending is now allocated to innovation and transformation initiatives with the goal to rapidly leverage the following significant technology shifts to maximize business gain:

  • Leverage public cloud to deliver an enterprise data platform for increased business agility, scalability, and resiliency.
  • Use of the latest data analytics platform for informed decision-making, driving business outcomes, and uncover new opportunities with data-driven insights.
  • AI and automation to improve efficiency and to speed up business processes and results.

Position Summary

The Enterprise Architect role develops and maintains the organization’s enterprise architecture framework, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. The person is a thought leader and works closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical design and architecture specifications. Able to translate complex technical concepts to business partners to ensure understanding and alignment. The person in the role will be able to present to a group, is able to tell a cohesive and persuasive story, and be able to walk the audience through a structured model leading to a well analyzed conclusion. Guide and mentor engineers on solid architecture, good design, clean code, and clear integrations across our business applications ensuring all features created by the team are designed well, are maintainable, performant, scalable, secure, and bug-free, and meet the needs of the stakeholders.

Essential Job Functions

Essential activities include but are not limited to:

  • A thought leader contributes to strategic and technical vision within depth knowledge of systems in logistics.
  • Architect, design and develop large scale distributed software services and solutions.
  • Design services with focus on high availability and scalability, robustness, and observability.
  • Has knowledge of supply chain systems, their architecture, eco system and architectures.
  • Build software prototypes and conduct experiments to evaluate alternative architectures.
  • Evaluate existing systems and infrastructure to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Design and implement integrated systems and software solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practices.
  • Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across different projects and technology platforms.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and assess their potential impact on the organization’s architecture.
  • Collaborate with project managers and business analysts to ensure successful project delivery within established timelines and budgets.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years of experience as a software developer in C# or relevant. Net technologies, working across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • 5+ years of experience as software architect or a technical software engineering lead.
  • Azure Architecture certified preferred.
  • In-depth understanding of software development methodologies, systems integration, and data management.
  • Proficiency in designing and implementing solutions using various technologies, including cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and databases.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance technical and business requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Other Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of implemented solutions, making recommendations for enhancements or modifications as needed.
  • Implement and maintain best-of-class CI/CD development pipelines with Azure DevOps and other industry best practices and tools, allowing the team to meet the SLAs and expectations for our components in production.
  • He/she will be able to establish and maintain strong internal processes – for planning, executing, and reporting progress, assess external and internal technology capabilities and propose solutions or changes that bring significant efficiencies and benefits.
  • Experience working in environments that leverage agile methodology.
  • Experience developing and documenting RESTful APIs or developing serverless applications.
  • Ability to lead resolution of complex problems based on technical and business understanding.
