ITS Logistics Fleet Named U.S. EPA 2020 SmartWay High Performer

August 26, 2020 — Today the U.S. EPA SmartWay® Transport Program announced that ITS Logistics was recognized as a U.S. EPA 2020 SmartWay High Performer.

Just over two percent of all SmartWay truck carriers operate fleets so clean and efficient that they make the SmartWay High Performer Truck Carriers list for All Metrics. These truck carriers move heavy products and goods, including everything from furniture, medicine, machinery, food, beverages, electronics, apparel, and more.

Whether its carbon, particulate matter or nitrogen oxide, high-performing SmartWay carriers drive cleaner, emit fewer of these pollutants—and burn less fuel—for every mile they travel and for every ton of freight they move, as compared to even their SmartWay peers.

U.S. EPA SmartWay® Transport Partners are on the forefront of sustainability in the logistics industry and will continue to contribute to the savings of more than 280 million barrels of oil, $37.5 billion in fuel costs and 134 million tons of air pollutants. This is the equivalent of the annual electricity use in 18.2 million homes.

About the U.S. EPA 2020 SmartWay Program

Developed jointly in early 2003 by EPA and charter partners represented by industry stakeholders, environmental groups, American Trucking Associations, and Business for Social Responsibility, this innovative program celebrated its 15 year anniversary in 2019. Partners rely upon SmartWay tools and approaches to track and reduce emissions and fuel use from goods movement. The partnership currently has over 3,700 partners including shipper, logistics companies, truck, rail, barge, a multimodal carriers and Affiliate organizations.
