Capacity Relations Manager

Job Description

Overview

The Capacity Relations Manager (CR) will report to the Vice President of Capacity (VPC) within the INC division of ITS Logistics to achieve company-wide capacity needs. The CR will be assisting in the development and be responsible for the execution of our Strategic Carrier Partnership Program. The CR will assist in conceptualize and implementing processes and programs to improve available capacity, strengthen carrier relationships while interfacing with the procurement team to support their needs. The CR will work closely with Capacity leadership and the Network Optimization Manager 

 

Principle Accountabilities

 

 The CR will work closely with VPC to achieve the following responsibilities: 

 

  • Strategic management of carriers within our shared carrier network 
  • Establish relationships with newly acquired carriers as well as maintain and strengthen our current carrier relationships 
  • Interface with teams to identify a means of associating our top shared carriers to a single point of contact to manage relationship dynamics and carrier ownership at a level higher than transactional 
  • Assist in creating a clear and concise platform to manage carrier performance (Scorecard) and maintain QBR’s and annual reviews for our top carriers 
  • Continually make recommendations for the ITS Strategic Carrier Partnership Program and Best in Class carrier experience 
  • Ensure all new carriers are onboarded correctly including but not limited to: Upfront carrier profile and identifying carrier needs, vetting, carrier relationship is established, carrier compliance 
  • Gather and present to leadership KPI’s for all key areas of capacity for the CR’s assigned carriers 
  • Make technology improvement recommendations – LOOP, ELD’s, Mobile App, etc. 
  • Strengthen our image and reputation within the industry, including 3rd party reviews and social media campaigns 
  • Provide recommendations and assist with ITS’ Carrier Incentive program which promotes overall growth, captive carrier network and relationship with ITS 
  • Execute marketing campaigns to proactively strengthening capacity 
  • Maintain and execute carrier CRM

Job Requirements

Education/Experience Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a documented history of transportation operations in a fast paced, high results environment. Previous experience in the logistics industry is highly desirable. Additional attributes we seek include: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in business, logistics management or related field 
  • One or more years of capacity sales and operations experience in logistics 
  • Track record of establishing and maintaining strong Carrier relationships 
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively coach and influence others 
  • Ability to think analytically and interpret data to drive decisions 
  • Excellent understanding of standard business practices related to operational processes and all systems 
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment 
  • Strong follow through and ability to work in groups and see projects to completion without significant oversight required 
  • Advanced Technology understanding and competency including Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong orientation toward serving Carriers to the best of your abilities 

 

Compensation

 

Competitive salary between $60-70K (DOE) plus a bonus structure. Additional benefits include a comprehensive benefit plan with a matching 401k.
