Director of Organizational Development

Job Description

Overview

The Director of Organizational Development is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for leadership development and coaching, organizational development interventions, change management, employee listening strategies and other talent management processes to meet the strategic goals of ITS Logistics.  This position ensures the effectiveness of the training department, enhancing processes to meet current and future needs of the organization.  The Director of Organizational Development implements strategies and best practices as it relates to learning, development, and enterprise-wide training.

 

Principle Accountabilities

  • Manage, lead and develop a team of high-performing training professionals providing learning and development activities throughout the company
  • Assess, develop, design, implement and evaluate all training initiatives across the enterprise
  • Support operation leadership on the evaluation of training and development and retention functions companywide
  • Operate as a subject matter expert, trusted advisor and coach to the operation leaders and Human Resources team
  • Collaborates with operation leaders to design training materials to meet the needs of the business
  • Implements, maintains and measures an employee listening strategy including employee engagement survey, exit survey, onboarding surveys and provides meaningful data to the leadership team
  • Evaluates strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals
  • Implements leadership development initiatives in alignment with senior leadership

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required, master’s degree in Organizational Development, Psychology, Human Resources Management preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in organizational development required
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (includes platform presentation skills, meetings with employees and management and solid listening skills)
  • Ability to influence and lead team members towards a common goal, managing team dynamics and providing development opportunities.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to demonstrate high standards of behavior at all levels
  • Solid skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote)
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and implement an improved process cohesively, involving multiple party stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment, without compromising quality
