RENO, NV – April 3, 2021 – ITS Logistics was awarded a PiE Champion Award during the Education Alliance 2021 Partners in Education Champion Awards, broadcast on KTVN 2 News.
“Our 2021 PiE Champions were selected because they came forward and made the education of students a top priority with the Distance Learning Laptop Drive,” said Kendall Inskip, Executive Director of the Education Alliance of Washoe County. “When students were home without technology, these community Partners in Education worked hard to find a way to connect them to their teachers and peers helping our children continue their learning.”
When the Washoe County School District implemented its distance learning initiative in 2020 due to COVID-19, we partnered with the Education Alliance of Washoe County and the Reno Cigar Lions Club in a computer donation program to help more than 16,000 Washoe County School District students who didn’t have computers for distance learning. We are proud to say that this project brought in more than 6,100 computers and raised more than $608,000 in 2020.
“We’re humbled and honored to be recognized as a PiE Champion Award winner alongside such amazing community-focused organizations,” said Scott Pruneau, ITS Logistics CEO. “We are incredibly proud to play a role in the Distance Learning Laptop Drive by donating funds, establishing a collection site that we are still managing, and continuing to spread awareness of the program. We believe it is vital for every student in Washoe County to have access to technology for distance learning, now and in the future—and we publicly commit to support this important cause moving forward.”
