A region that works for business. At the heart of the 11 Western states, Nevada has 1 and 2 day access to all eleven western states and has easy access to California — the world's sixth largest marketplace. Reno/Sparks is at the hub of an extensive transportation network on two major highway corridors: Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 395, facilitating next day and deferred services throughout the nation and many parts of the world.

Reno is located 4 hours from the major international and domestic shipping hub of the San Francisco Bay Area. This area includes the Ports of Oakland, and San Francisco, three major airports: San Francisco, San Jose and Oakland, rail facilities in Oakland and Richmond. At the same time, Reno has customs facilities and personnel to handle nearly all import and export needs, while Reno International Airport is capable of handling a variety of international and domestic services and flights. Approximately 329,000 pounds of Cargo arrive daily at Reno Tahoe International Airport. Reno is an inland "port of entry" where efficient services allow foreign goods to quickly clear customs.

Tax incentives

Nevada's tax climate is among the least burdensome in the country:

• No Business Income Tax
  Nevada does not impose income tax on domestic or foreign corporations. Nevada levies no taxes whatsoever on corporate profits.
• Income Tax is Prohibited
  Personal income tax is prohibited by Nevada's constitution.
• No Inventory Tax
  Nevada has no tax on inventories held for sale within Nevada or for interstate transit.
• Limited Tax increases
  The Nevada Legislature requires a “Super-Majority” to increase any taxes or fees.

Nevada's early adoption of fiberoptic technology, including expansive network of ISDN and other large volume digital transmission infrastructures - along with digital switching - have made the state one of the most sought after locations in the West.

Efficient, reliable utilities are necessary to conduct any business. As a necessary expense of doing business and living in Nevada, many have come to appreciate the reduced utility costs as an added perk in the already welcoming business environment.
